Description
It is a big straight growing plant with long narrow green leaves that have white veins and irregular margins. During winter , new tasty buds called "puntarelle" (small tips) grow in the head. These "puntarelle" are fairly large but short. The small tips are numerous and they form a compact sort of pine cone.
Sowing Period
It needs be planted during summer and for best results it should be planted in July. Transplantation takes place one month after the seeding process, at a distance of 16 inches between the rows and 12 inches on the row.
